[Whether they like it or not, the truth is that Shima did, in fact, kill someone. Not two someones, from the sound of it - which perhaps not much of a comfort, considering they caught him and not the other killer.]
Are you... going to talk to him privately? Or, have you spoken with him already?
[He doesn't really seem like the type to listen to anyone, honestly. But Yona barely knows him, so she doesn't say that out loud.]
...I talked to Virid, the night we caught him. I haven't spread this very far, because... well, because he seemed worried that people would take it the wrong way. And I can't really blame him for worrying about that, because... you've seen us, in the trials.
[...]
But he said he was helping, too. Now that we know that nova can... splinter, I think it has to do with that. He also said that someone had asked him to do what he did, and that he didn't want to say who because he was afraid we would assume they were the enemy. But what he said was, "If they weren't lying to me, then they should be okay now. But if they were telling the truth, then someone else will probably strike."
...Shima didn't answer me, when I asked him if someone had asked him to act. But I think someone might have.
[she's standing close enough to him that he'll be able to tell she feels - pretty conflicted, and a little uncertain. it's hard to just take someone's word for something like this, really.]
...I think Shima is being honest, when he says he was trying to help. So, I hope hearing that helps you.
...if he did give some kind of hint like that, I wasn't able to figure it out. He told me what he could - I think he was worried we'd turn on whoever it was that had asked him.
You know, part of me is worried that we're doing the wrong thing here, and that the murders are only happening because someone's trying to stop us from collecting nova.
We don't have any proof of what is true and what is a lie. What if us gathering it is what's siphoning it off to the monster? We could be unintentionally making things worse.
Because the other option is that the monster is trying to stop us by compelling others to kill, but would Virid or Shima willingly kill to help a monster trying to end the world?
I don't think so either. But it's gotta be one of those two things: either we're being manipulated by that monster, or the killers are. And we need to figure out who it is, so we can end this.
